Animal Sanctuaries rescue thousands of wildlife every year. They protect several animals like lions, tigers, bears, wolves, dogs, bald eagles and even alligators. That is just to name a few. The sanctuaries are landscaped to mimic the natural habitat of each animal. One of the main goals is to make the animals feel safe and secure in this new environment. Sanctuaries are non-profit organization and they don’t mistreat the animals.
Animal Sanctuaries take in animals that have been captured and mistreated. The food has been approved by the National Wildlife Commission. The greatest thing is that these animals will never be mistreated or go unfed ever again. They are able to live their lives free, as if are in there natural habitat.
As mentioned earlier, these animals are released into an area that replicates there natural home. The amount of time, money, and dedication put into building these habitats is amazing. Donations are always welcome, as well as volunteers. These facilities build dens underground for the bears to hibernate. One of these dens weighs 50 tons (of concrete) and it is 8’x50’. They build ponds so all of the animals such as lions, tigers, and alligators can swim and play. They also plant trees and scrubs that resemble the natural habitats of each animal.
It is so great that people are doing this and taking money from there own pocket and from the help of others to open and maintain these facilities. So, always remember every donation helps. It is also hard for these facilities to find volunteers. So, if you or someone you know is an animal lover, this would be something wonderful to do with your free time.
