Can Humans and Wildlife Coexist?

Today, there seems to be more and more reports on the news of wildlife predators attacking humans. Why does it seem that there is such an increase of wildlife attacking people? Are humans falling prey to large animal predators?
It’s not so much that these larger animals such as mountain lions, bears, and sharks want to eat humans, it’s more that the human population is increasing. With the increase of population we are encroaching on wildlife habitats. We are taking over their habitats with ours. Because their habitat is shrieking they have been left up to finding other resource on which to live. Sometimes they remain in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, because of encroachment we have played havoc on the ecosystem. Plants natural to the area are being destroyed, the animals that feed on those plants are becoming less and less, and the larger predators have nothing to prey on. Large predators may be finding that humans are easy prey, or because there is such an imbalance in our ecosystems human are all they can find.
So, is there a solution? Can humans and wildlife coexist? There are so many opinions from all spectrums of life. However, one solution that seems to be working is that as new housing developments spring up, developers have left huge amounts of land designated for open space. This open space provides untouched land where the present ecosystem will be left undisturbed. Maybe with this foresight and careful planning, we will be able to coexist with wildlife.
