The best way to keep the planet's environment healthy is to find a resource that is free and user friendly. Wind is a common resource that is clean and self renewing. We have used windmills for centuries in the world. The modern windmills that we use are very high tech. Windmills that are grouped together on the ocean or on large areas of land are called "wind farms." A wind turbine is rotating machine which allows us to convert wind into electricity. The windmill can also be used to provide energy for a single household or farm.
The environmental benefits of windmills include minimal amounts of pollutants such as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide. The windmills lead in comparison to those produced in the creation of energy through fossil fuels. When importing fossil fuels, we send over $4oo billion dollars outside the United States. Renewable energy resources are produced in the United States. If we develop the windmills properly, we could keep billions of dollars here and also create more jobs for Americans.
Much of the research done on the wind industry can be attributed to the National Wind Technology Center. We know two things for certain and that is that the oil that we depend on won't last forever. The sun will last longer than the oil. We know that our children's future will depend on the technological advancement of these renewable resources such as these windmills. We need to understand the importance of wind power. Our future lies in renewable energy.
